Nothing Is More Attractive Than Confidence
As I reflect on the woman I want to become, I think about some of the traits I want to exhibit, one of them being unapologetically myself. I am a very confident girl; however, I realized that sometimes I’m not unapologetically myself.
Quick Story Time: There's this amazing lady in my apartment named Momi, and she is truly one of the most unique people I’ve ever met. Her confidence and glow are honestly inspiring. She says what's on her mind, is the first to introduce herself to you, and makes you feel like you’ve known her forever. She truly shines bright and is the definition of unapologetically herself. Everyone knows her, and she remembers everything about everyone. The way she easily connects with others is so heartwarming.
Another thing I love is that she is truly one of the most extroverted people I’ve ever met, and her husband of 30+ years is introverted. They are the opposites, but she told me he has never tried to change her and vice versa. Because of her, I started to reflect, and I realized yes, I’m confident, but there are moments when I’m not truly my unapologetically self.
Small examples include being the first to introduce myself in the elevator, sending DMs to like-minded girlies I want to be friends with, or walking up to do karaoke to my favorite song. So, for 2024, I want to work on becoming unapolically myself, not just confident but glowing with warmth.
Simplicity Is Key
When you are trying to learn/ do something new, simplicity is key. So many girlies say they want to be morning people, for example, and they’ll create a long morning routine. They must wake up at 5 am, run a mile, get sun, etc.… It’s too much at once; it’s too complicated.
I see girlies also say they want to start posting content and will say for 2024, I’m going to post every day, and I can appreciate the ambition, but the reality is you are setting yourself up to fail. The easier it is for you to start, the better. Another quick example, you don’t need to wait to get a camera to start posting content, that creates way too much friction.
Not only do you need to buy a camera, but you need to learn how to use it and much more. Start with what you have and make it AS SIMPLE AS POSSIBLE for you to get started. Then, once you have the routine on lockdown, you can start changing and improving things. But one tip when starting anything new is to make it as easy and simple as possible for you to stick to it. Be A Doer, Not A Planner
Especially with the new year around the corner, I see so many women making vision boards and setting goals, which I love! However, I feel like a lot of the time, we will focus so much on planning instead of doing it. It’s almost as if we use it as an excuse to get started.
This can be when starting a new business, content, podcast, etc. Whatever you want to do, you don’t need more information. You need more action. There is no better teacher than doing the thing you want to do. Instead of continuing to do countless research and dance around the work you have to do, the truth is you need just to get started.
I hope this is the push you need to get started. You don’t need more information to get started; you need more action! EUR TV
