💕 Embracing Change
👑 Having A Positive Perspective
✨ How To Easily Adjust To Any Changes
Embracing Change
One thing that I am great at is adjusting to change. I like to say I move like water and can easily adjust to anything! Maybe this is why I’ve moved 8 times in the last 2 years, lol. As you can see, I really love changing my environment and embracing it.
However, I know many people don't like change, which can lead to anxiety or stress when something doesn’t go as planned. In reality, what’s happening in your mind has a regular program that runs on autopilot, and when your routine is thrown off, your brain is alerted. It’s normal to not like change because it’s more work for you. So, that's why change can make us feel anxious – it's our brain's way of being extra cautious.
Our brains are wired to love routines and predictability. However, change is also an amazing opportunity to recreate yourself, start a new habit, or alter anything you’ve been doing. It’s an opportunity for growth and should be embraced. Change might seem scary, but it’s you embracing growth.
Having A Positive Perspective
You go from feeling anxious about new changes to feeling excited simply because of one thing… your perspective of it.
During any big changes in your life, your brain will automatically think of all the bad that can go wrong, which will make you feel overwhelmed, anxious, nervous, etc. However, being able to master your emotions is truly one of the most important things you can learn. Process your emotions and why you’re feeling that way (which is normal). However, ask yourself, am I really in danger? Or is the mind making me feel worse about the situation because it’s something new and different?
Once you can distinguish this and let yourself know that everything is okay, you can start to actually be excited about the new change. I personally always like to see the glass half full rather than half empty.
For example, a couple of months ago I moved to Spain, thinking I would be there for years. I sold my car and half my clothes and moved my family to Spain. After a month there, my fiancé came over and said he had to have a talk with me. He says, “I know we were planning on living here, but we have to fly back home this weekend (work stuff).” I just looked at him and said okay, I’ll start packing, and he was shocked. He couldn’t believe I took the news so well, but I had already trained my brain to think of the positives.
Naturally, your brain will want to think of all the bad stuff; however, you have to reprogram your mind to see the positive. Yeah, my dreams of living in Spain quickly ended, and I could have dwelled on it, but I immediately thought of how excited I would be to see my family, attend all our family events that I was previously going to miss out on, etc.
Life is all about perspective; retrain your brain to think of the positive.
How To Easily Adjust To Any Changes
One thing I always remind myself of is to move like water and adjust to anything life throws my way.
Life is unpredictable, but that's what makes it fun. I am also a true believer that everything happens for a reason.
There is always something to learn from where you're currently at. And any change that is happening is an opportunity to learn and grow.
So, here's your sign to embrace any change that life may have thrown at you instead of fighting it. EUR TV
